Open Mic Night
Welcome to The Phoenix Philly! We're here to rewrite the narrative of recovery, and we'd love for you to join us! Whether you're in recovery, a friend, relative, or ally seeking substance-free events, you're invited to be part of our community. Our programs resonate with the heart of Philadelphia, providing a space where you can be yourself, uplift your neighbors, and grow together. All programming is FREE with the simple expectation that all participants respect The Phoenix Community Guidelines.
Philly Rise, a collaboration between the Fourth District Container Village and The Phoenix, will be the first-ever large community event to focus on the BIPOC experience within recovery. Philly Rise is a celebration of the strength and resilience of the BIPOC recovery community. It is a response to the clear need for recovery spaces that reflect the cultural identities and experiences of Black and other marginalized communities in Philadelphia. We aim to recognize and honor all types of recovery, including substance use, mental health, trauma, grief, eating disorders, and more. Our goal is to acknowledge the diverse paths to recovery, recognize the systemic barriers faced by BIPOC individuals in accessing recovery resources, and create a safe, supportive space where the community can come together for support, education, and celebration. Join us for a day filled with music, art, wellness activities, and community engagement as we embrace and uplift all who are on their recovery journey.
