An Open Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) Meeting is a gathering where anyone whether they are struggling with alcohol use, curious about AA, or supporting a loved one can attend. Unlike Closed AA Meetings, which are only for individuals who identify as alcoholics, open meetings welcome family members, friends, professionals, or anyone interested in learning more about the program. Open AA meetings provide insight into the recovery process, offer hope, and foster a sense of community. Attendees are encouraged to listen and respect anonymity, but they are not required to participate.
