Bouldering is a form of free climbing performed without the use of ropes or harnesses. Climbing shoes can be provided and each participant will receive an introduction to bouldering movement and falling. If you are new to bouldering, please be at the gym by 6:10 to be able to join in the introductory lessons. We will have a group meet up at 7:15 to cover the Phoenix ethos and get to know each other better.
If you don’t have your own climbing shoes, you can rent a pair from the Phoenix. This is a great option if you’re just starting out and want to try bouldering without buying expensive gear. Waiver at: https://waiver.smartwaiver.com/w/5ca4f1db673d4/web/
New members will be led through an introductory course covering safe, fall techniques, which can help prevent injuries in the event of the fall. The course will also cover the grading system used in motoring, which indicates the difficulty of the client.
