About the event

The inspiring and joyful path of Buddhism is available to all and offers practical and time-honored wisdom for navigating life’s challenges.
UUCM, in partnership with the international lay Buddhist organization Rissho Kosei-Kai, hosts this a weekly gathering. There is a a 15-20 minute formal service which involves chanting the Lotus Sutra (considered a form of voice meditation: you can meditate during it..or chant with us, we’ll teach you!) and then we have a topic discussion.

Note: on the last Sunday of the month we hold Basic Buddhism class instead of our typical service and discussion. No prior knowledge necessary, all are welcome.

What to bring?

A good sense off humor and an open mind.

Special instructions

We open the church specifically for this gathering each week. Please note the building won’t be open before 5:30. Also: a few folks carpool so if you don’t see enough cars, don’t be shy! At least 5-6 people will magically arrive by 6.
