Part of what makes Phoenix programs powerful and transformative experiences is our commitment to creating safe and welcoming spaces for all our members. That’s why this month we’re introducing #NotMe, a new feature designed to make reporting misconduct easier and more secure than ever.
What is #NotMe?
#NotMe is shorthand for “I’m not going to allow something inappropriate happen to me or my peers.” It’s a straightforward way for someone to speak up about any misconduct at a Phoenix event or program. Whether they’re reporting a firsthand experience or an incident they witness, members and attendees can anonymously submit reports directly from their phone or computer.
What Can Be Reported?
With #NotMe, Phoenix members will be able to more easily report a wide range of behaviors or incidents, including:
Why Report Early?
Reporting issues early can prevent them from escalating or being repeated. By taking a proactive, accessibly approach, our members help to maintain a safe and respectful community for everyone, in direct accordance with our Ethos.
How to Use #NotMe
We want to make using this new resource as easy as possible for our members and users. Here’s how to submit a report using the simple #NotMe interface.
After Submitting a Report
After a user submits a report, our triage team will reach out through a secure chat connected to that user’s report. If a user chooses to report anonymously, their identity will remain confidential. They’ll also receive updates if their report moves to a formal investigation and learn about the outcomes. Plus, users can always access any reports they’ve submitted through their account.
Need More Help?
We’ve put together a comprehensive FAQ to answer any additional questions. Inside #NotMe, users will find more FAQs, web resources, and training guides, including video tutorials to help them navigate the reporting process.
Your Voice Matters
By using #NotMe, users and members are helping to make our community stronger and safer for everyone, with is a cornerstone of The Phoenix experience.
How to Create an Account
Here is a video of how-to sign-up. If you don’t already have an account, the first step is to go to app.not-me.com and create an account. You can also access it directly through your Phoenix app.
Then you will want to link your account to The Phoenix. Here is a video that explains how to do that. When prompted for the organization’s pin enter: thephoenix. It is not case sensitive and is all one word.
Submitting a Report
So now your account is created, you are connected to The Phoenix, here is how you submit a report. This video walks you through the process as well.
You’ve submitted a report. Now what happens?
To review any submission on your homepage, select “My Activity” there you can view any reports you have submitted.
What You Can Expect from Us
After you submit a report, trained staff will follow up with you via the chat feature in your report if anything additional is needed or to direct you to another.
If your report is moved into an active investigation, you will be able to track the process on your #NotMe dashboard.
There are three stages that a report goes through when submitted. As your report moves into each new stage, you will receive an email notification from #NotMe to your personal email account about the progression of your report.
These notifications are coming through our #NotMe system and although The Phoenix is determining the stage or status of your report, it does NOT know your personal email address or who you are if you have reported it anonymously.
The Phoenix will respond to most cases within a couple of business days letting you know what the status is. After that, most cases will be investigated and resolved within two business weeks. If you don’t hear from anyone within a week after submission, please feel free to use the chat feature to get an update on your status.
