Borderland Festival To Host Sober Space
The Borderland Festival’s 2023 outing begins September 15 and runs through Sunday, September 17 at Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora, New York. The festival is boasting a jam-packed lineup headlined by Trey Anastasio & Classic TAB, Goose and moe.
Anastasio’s Divided Sky Foundation will present the “Sober Retreat Tent,” an inclusive sober space for sober attendees, at Borderland.
The sober-supportive sanctuary is the first of its kind presented by Divided Sky at any major music festival. Borderland’s Sober Space also comes in partnership with 1 Million Strong, described in a press release as, “an impact initiative that seeks to support one million people impacted by substance use,” and The Phoenix community for people in recovery.
Sober festivalgoers and their allies, friends and family can use the space to meet up, relax, recharge and imbibe non alcoholic drinks served by Tap Truck Buffalo. Festivalgoers can also learn about the Divided Sky Foundation, The Phoenix and 1 Million Strong and find out how to get involved, pick up music swag and enjoy other offerings.
Trey Anastasio founded the Divided Sky Foundation in 2020 to support those in early recovery from alcoholism and addiction. Final touches are being made to The Divided Sky Residential Recovery Program, a substance use disorder treatment center in Ludlow, Vermont.
Dawes, The Infamous Stringdusters, Sammy Rae & Friends, Neal Francis, Mighty Poplar, Organ Fairchild, Karina Rykman and the Krasno/Moore Project are among other acts on the Borderland Festival 2023 lineup. Purchase Borderland Festival tickets now via Front Gate Tickets.
