WHAT IS A “SOBER SAFE SPACE?”
A sober safe space is a designated area at venues, events, festivals, or really any public place where there may be alcohol or other triggering substances present. Anyone is welcome but attendees of the space are expected to be sober (and remain sober throughout the duration of the event), and no alcohol drinks or substances should be present inside it. These sober safe spaces can be customized and scaled and must be monitored by venue or event staff to ensure the safety and comfort level of those within it. They should be clearly marked by signage.
